First-Person Movie Hardcore Gets Its First Trailer With District 9 And Powers' Sharlto Copley

by Kyle Hilliard on Sep 13, 2015 at 10:32 AM

Hardcore is a crowd-funded action movie that takes place entirely from the first-person perspective of its protagonist, Henry, and it has received its first trailer.

Director Ilya Naishuller shared a scene from the movie while it was still gathering money with its IndieGoGo campaign back in November. The headline for the trailer on YouTube teases that the movie stars District 9 And Powers' Sharlto Copley. Copley doesn't appear to play the film's main, unseen protagonist, but he does appear in the trailer, strangely, as two different characters.

The trailer showcases an impressive display of stunt work and special effects that will feel familiar to anyone who has played a first-person shooter. The film is produced Timur Bekmambetov, best known for directing 2008's Wanted.

Note: The trailer below definitely contains some mature content. Be wary.

For more first-person action, check out this music video from the band Biting Elbows, which was also directed by Naishuller.
