Dark Souls III Releases In March 2016 In Japan

by Kyle Hilliard on Sep 13, 2015 at 12:50 PM

We're still waiting to learn Dark Souls III's North American release date, but in Japan the game will be available on March 24, 2016.

News of the Japanese launch date comes from a From Software press release. The March 24 release date covers the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. The release date for the PC version, as well as the worldwide release, will be revealed, "at a later date."

The press release also detailed a special pre-order edition for Japan that includes the game's soundtrack and a map.

Our Take
In the case of both BloodBorne and Dark Souls II, the North American release occurred two days before the Japanese release. Following that logic, it looks like we may get Dark Souls III on March 22. This press release, however, seems to hint that the worldwide release will occur after the Japanese release date. Whatever the case, it sounds like we will learn more soon.
