Get Infinity Blade III And A Ton Of UE 4 Assets For Free

by Jeff Marchiafava on Sep 11, 2015 at 10:16 AM

Chair is not only giving away the last installment of the Infinity Blade series for free, but also tons of assets for budding developers.

Epic Games' Dana Cowley announced the giveaway on the Unreal Engine site. Infinity Blade III can be downloaded from iTunes, but the bigger news is the massive content libraries that Chair is now giving away to Unreal Engine 4 users. The assets were created for the never-released Infinity Blade: Dungeons, and total over 7,600 images, models, audio files, and special effects. Here's a full breakdown of what's included, courtesy of Cowley's post:

  • Infinity Blade: Grass Lands is the earthy citadel adorned with stone set pieces and beautiful props.
  • Infinity Blade: Ice Lands is the wintery fort set deep within a glacial enclave.
  • Infinity Blade: Fire Lands is the radiant castle interior laced with unforgiving paths, dramatic props and flowing lava.
  • Infinity Blade: Warriors includes loads of assets for crafting fierce heroes.
  • Infinity Blade: Adversaries has even more content for a making wide variety of rivals.
  • Infinity Blade: Effects gives you visual effects ranging from fire and smoke to lightning and magical reactions.
  • Infinity Blade: Sounds includes thousands of raw audio files and sound cues.
  • Infinity Blade: Weapons presents a vast array of melee weaponry, including never-before-seen swords and axes and also a few Infinity Blade fan favorites.

Cowley says the free assets can be used in any UE 4 project, "no strings attached."

Our Take
The free game is great, but giving away a huge library of high-quality assets for indie developers to use is even more generous. It's a nice way for Chair to make sure its unused assets don't go to waste, while simultaneously giving (its parent company) Epic Games a way to support its Unreal Engine 4 users. Kudos to Chair.
