Watch Destiny: The Taken King’s PlayStation-Exclusive Echo Chamber Strike Today

by Mike Futter on Sep 09, 2015 at 09:18 AM

Destiny: The Taken King is less than one week away, but there’s still a bit more to uncover. PlayStation platforms are getting an exclusive strike, which you can watch today.

The strike is called Echo Chamber, and it pits fireteams against a Vex boss called The Restorative Mind. In an earlier preview, we discussed how you’ll need to use an item to make it vulnerable to normal attacks.

The other strike, available to all players, is called Sunless Cell. In that one, you’ll be up against the Hive baddy that once posed a threat to The Taken King’s uber-boss, Oryx.

You can tune into see Echo Chamber on the PlayStation Twitch channel at 2 p.m. Pacific / 5 p.m. Eastern today. For those hoping to dive right into Taken King next week, you should take the time to download yesterday’s 17 GB update that brings Destiny a host of new systems and improvements.

Our Take
From our preview last month, it sounds like Bungie is improving the Strike design to incorporate what people like about the raids.  I started playing again last night, and the improvements are profound, evening out the leveling system and making endgame feel more accessible. Whether I stay around for the long haul depends on just how good The Taken King is.
