Star Wars: Uprising Action-RPG Arriving September 10
The bonanza of Force Friday toy news is now in the past, but that doesn’t mean the road to The Force Awakens doesn’t have some imminent excitement. Kabam is getting ready to launch the latest mobile game in the Star Wars franchise, giving players something to bridge Return of the Jedi to Episode VII.
Star Wars: Uprising is a free-to-play game for iOS and Android that is only the second story following the armageddon that destroyed the Expanded Universe. The first, Chuck Wendig’s Star Wars: Aftermath, is available now.
The story brings players to the Anoat sector of Star Wars’ sprawling galaxy. That slice of space is where you’ll find Hoth and Bespin, both familiar settings that have no doubt changed after the fall of Darth Vader and the Emperor.
You’ll be able to download it to your iPhone, iPod, iPad, or Android device starting on Thursday, September 10. For more, check out our previous coverage.
While this is a free-to-play mobile game, I’m willing to give it a shot. If it tells a compelling story and the monetization model isn’t oppressive, I’m glad to spend more time in the Star Wars universe leading up to The Force Awakens.
