For the past few days, Jimmy Kimmel has been poking at the gaming community, and gamers have been jabbing back. It started with Kimmel ridiculing the idea of watching Let’s Play videos and escalated to show a disconnect with eSports’ popularity.
Now, Kimmel is simply having fun at the expense of angry gamers levying threats. Some of these are creative, but others are just downright vicious.
In the second half of the video, the threats become “cryptic and menacing.” Thankfully for Kimmel, he says he loves making people mad.
He also says he’s going to sit down with members of the gaming community to see what all the fuss is about. At this point, it’s pretty clear that this is becoming a comedic feud and Kimmel is reveling in it. The more he pokes, the angrier gamers get, and the more material he has for the next night.
While I shouldn’t have to spell it out, I will. If you are truly angry about what this late night host is saying, you have the most powerful weapon at your disposal: silence.
