XCOM 2 Delayed Out Of 2015
The wait to stick it to our alien oppressors just got a little bit longer. 2K and Firaxis have announced that XCOM 2 has been delayed.
In a blog post on the official XCOM website, Firaxis revealed that XCOM 2 won't be ready until February 5, citing the desire for "...more depth, more replayability, and more investment in your soldiers..." as the cause for the delay.
The game was already fun when we played it at E3 earlier this summer, so the delay shouldn't cause too much worry for waiting fans. Firaxis has also stressed that it wants user mods to be an integral component to the game, so at least when it does come out you won't have to worry about running out of content.
Our Take
This is the kind of delay that – while
disappointing – you can't really
argue with. What you can argue with, is the fact that XCOM 2 is coming to PC
only – come on, Firaxis. Some of us fell in love with your glorious strategy
reboot on consoles!
