Massive Diablo III 2.3 Update Live Now On PC And Current-Gen Consoles

by Mike Futter on Aug 26, 2015 at 04:47 AM

Update: The console version of the patch is also live now. Happy hunting!

Diablo III has received a hefty new update on PC, prepping the field for Season 4 and offering new areas to explore and conquer. Players can venture to the Ruins of Sescheron to take on new enemies and find a new legendary treasure.

Kanai’s Cube is a new artisan that allows players to reforge legendary items, upgrade rare gear to legendary status, remove level requirements, and perform alchemical feats like changing gems from one type to another and altering crafting materials. You’ll get access to recipes as soon as you find the Cube.

When Season 4 kicks off, players will be able to track their progress using the new Season Journey feature. This will catalog objectives and achievements as well as showcase rewards.

New difficulty levels (Torment VII through X) have been added with their own paragon requirements. The update also includes a large body of tweaks to class skills, adjustments to monster abilities, the groundwork for Season 4 gear drops, and improvements to adventure mode.

You can check out the extensive rundown of changes on Blizzard’s website.

Our Take
I’m getting that old Diablo itch again, though I’d love to see seasons and other updates come to console. When Blizzard said that consoles would receive all the PC content last year, we had hope that Seasons would be along shortly. Hopefully, that’s still something that might be happening.
