by Alissa McAloon on Aug 14, 2015 at 02:45 PM

This week, mobile gaming receives a few new puzzlers and sees a major update in a former fan favorite. Players will also be happy to see a game in the mix that neither costs money nor offers in-app purchases.

Fallout Shelter
Developer: Bethesda
Platform(s): iOS, Android
Price: Free (in-app purchases)

Sure, Fallout Shelter isn't exactly a new mobile game, but a recent update has brought it right back into the spotlight. As of this week, the vault management game is now out on Android devices. Those that have already gotten their fill of the game on iOS will be happy to know that the Android release has also brought new content to both versions. Deathclaws and Molerats can now attack vaults and the new, resource gathering Mr. Handy can now be recruited. For more on Fallout Shelter, check out our iOS review of the game here.

The Path To Luma
Developer: NRG Energy
Platform(s): iOS, Android
Price: Free
The planets in The Path To Luma are dying and it's up to you to save them. Players take on the role of SAM to help him navigate the tiny landscapes to restore life and beauty to each planet. To do that, players must tap to lead SAM through a rotatable planet and restore solar, wind, and other kinds of energy to each world. The levels are filled with beautiful music and captivating puzzles, making The Path To Luma a hard title to pass up. The game is also free and doesn't include a single in-app purchase, which is a rarity in a game of this caliber.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3
Developer: Frontier Developments Limited
Platform(s): iOS
Price: $4.99
The PC RollerCoaster park management sim that kept us all busy as kids is now playable right from your mobile device. The mobile version of the classic game features 18 scenarios from the original game, five themes, and the return of the first-person coaster-cam. If you're not up for a challenge, the game is also playable in a scenario-free Sandbox mode.

Sputnik Eyes
Developer: Shelly Alon
Platform(s): iOS
Price: $1.99
Sputnik Eyes is the second mobile game this week that handles planet exploration, but this time in a slightly different way. In Sputnik Eyes, you are tasked with exploring new planets and placing camera nodes throughout each. To do this, players must slide colorful cameras along tracks until each one sits in its proper place. As to be expected, things start out simple and become more complex as the game progresses. At the end of it all, Sputnik Eyes is a captivating little puzzle game that players won't have to work hard to enjoy.
