Dishonored Definitive Edition Gets Release Date & Discounts

by Matthew Kato on Jul 22, 2015 at 10:37 AM

Bethesda is trying to entice Dishonored fans to purchase the upcoming Definitive Edition of the game with discounts for returning players.

A Bethesda spokesperson confirmed with us that if you own the download version of the original game, you'll get a substantial discount on the Definitive Edition at the PSN store ($19.99 down from $39.99). Microsoft is also running their own deal. Users are reporting that the PSN store will automatically read your account and if the Dishonored download is detected, the offer will automatically show up at the discounted price. We could not confirm this detection first hand.

The spokesperson also told us that those dealing in second-hand boxed copies [Full Disclosure: Game Informer is owned by GameStop] will be running their own deals. We called some local GameStop stores, but none of them were running any trade-in deals – so please check with your retailer first.

This discount is apparently applicable to those PlayStation Plus members who downloaded the game for free with their membership as part of the plan's April games.

As announced at E3, the Definitive Edition contains better graphics for the new systems, as well as the game's three DLC expansions.

The Definitive Edition comes out for PS4 and Xbox One on August 25.

Until then, check out StealthGamerBR's violent spree in the original game, as well as check out details about Dishonored 2.

Our Take
Great that it apparently applies to the free PS Plus download as well. Anyone seeing the discount pop up on their account?
