Call of Duty: Black Ops II Is Now The Most Sought After Title For Xbox One Backwards Compatibility

by Alissa McAloon on Jul 22, 2015 at 11:01 AM

It’s been nearly a month since Microsoft asked which Xbox 360 games fans want to see become backwards compatible on the Xbox One. For the longest time, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption was the game most in demand, but the western shooter has recently been usurped by another popular title: Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

The poll on Microsoft’s website allows fans to vote and comment on games they would like to see brought to the current gaming generation via backwards compatibility. Black Ops currently leads the pack with 77,135 votes, beating out Red Dead Redemption’s 75,136. The other top contenders are fairly obvious; Skyrim, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Halo: Reach, and Gears of War 3 all hold top spots on the list.

If you’re eager to see your favorite Xbox 360 game reemerge on the Xbox One, head over to the poll here to cast your vote. Microsoft isn’t promising any individual game on the list will become backward compatible, but the poll serves as a great way to find out what games fans want to see brought to the current generation.

Our Take:
I’ll admit: I’m a little sad to see Red Dead Redemption booted from that top spot, but I can’t say I’m surprised to see a Call of Duty title as number one. Is anyone else a bit shocked that more people are favoring Black Ops II over the first Modern Warfare?
