Sony Announces PS4 Led U.S. Console And Software Sales In June

While we’re waiting for the full NPD report, we have the first news about last month’s leaders. Sony has announced that it had the lead for both console sales and hardware in June.

The publisher cites popularity of the Batman: Arkham Knight console bundle as a major driving force. “PS4 continues to lead console sales in the U.S. and globally and we would like to thank gamers worldwide for their continued dedication to the PlayStation platform,” a representative told us via email.

We’ll have more on the June United States retail report from NPD as it’s available.

Our Take
I would expect that the long-awaited Batman: Arkham Knight also led the retail top 10, though bundled copies aren’t considered in the tally. After this though, it’s a toss-up for a few months as the summer is typically very unpredictable.
