NeocoreGames (Deathtrap) are working on an action/RPG Warhammer 40K title with Games Workshop entitled Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr for release on multiple systems in 2016.

The game is slated for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac, and the title is promising a persistent sandbox world on top of the traditional single-player campaign. Once players finish the campaign as Inquisitors, the title opens up into an evolving sandbox. NeocoreGames is promising a "continous flow" of content for the game.

"A Warhammer 40,000 action/RPG has been notably absent from our portfolio of video game licenses so far," says Jon Gillard, head of licensing for Games Workshop, "and it's great to finally be able to talk publicly about this wonderful game that the guys at Neocore have been working so hard on for some time now."

Our Take
Gillard may be right that the action/RPG slot needs filling, but given the numerous Warhammer games (both the fantasy and 40K variety) of different genres already slated to come out this year alone, it'll be interesting to see if there's room for one more.
