Banjo & Kazooie Make Grisly Cameo In Yooka-Laylee Animated Short

Earlier this year a group of ex-Rare developers raised over $3 million on Kickstarter for Yooka-Laylee – a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie – thanks to support from generous fans. Now a short cartoon by the talented folks at Mashed have combined the 3D-platforming worlds of the bear/bird and chameleon/bat duos to humorous results.

In the video below, Yooka and Laylee are intercepted by a slimy snake wearing trousers. The slick reptile is enticed by the duo's sack full of collectibles, and even finds a few key items that fans of Rare's N64-era platformers will surely recognize. It seems Yooka and Laylee are proficient collectors, but at what cost? First it was Bottles the mole, now this...
