Dark Horse Comics will be releasing a Call of Duty: Black Ops III comic series focusing on the events that happened prior to the plot of the upcoming game. The first issue will follow a team of soldiers as they track down a double agent in Uzbekistan.

Speaking to IGN, writer Larry Hama explained that a comic book adaptation should provide readers with content they wouldn’t be able to receive from a game. For the Call of Duty: Black Ops III prequel comic, that means focusing more on the personal relationships developed among the eight-man team the comic follows.

A mini-comic of the upcoming series will be handed out for free to those attending San Diego Comic-Con next week. Otherwise, the series is set to release on November 4, only two days before the release of the Call of Duty: Black Ops III game for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
