PSA: GameStop Expands Retro Games And Console Sales Nationwide
The retro gaming phenomenon continues to grow, with specialty shops starting to carry a wider selection of hardware and software. GameStop [Disclaimer: GameStop is Game Informer’s parent company] is getting in on the action starting today.
The move was announced in April, and the company will both sell and take in eligible cartridges, discs, and consoles. A pilot program in New York and Birmingham, Alabama was conducted before the wider start today.
According to the company’s website, available systems include NES, Genesis, SNES, Nintendo 64, PlayStation, and Dreamcast. The selection is largely available online, with limited availability at nationwide retail locations so far.
