Is That Solid Snake In This New MGS V: The Phantom Pain Trailer?
A new trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain shown during YouTube's E3 livestream shows off several new dramatic scenes, including a possible tease of the Les Enfants Terribles cloning programs' Liquid and Solid Snake together on screen.
The trailer below is directed by Hideo Kojima himself, the creator of the Metal Gear series who recently had a falling out with publisher Konami. The video shows blondie Eli, who bears a striking resemblance to Liquid, hopping into what looks like a prototype of Metal Gear Rex and chasing down Big Boss. Another mysterious scene shows Big Boss racing across the desert in a jeep as huge stony spikes rapidly burst out of the ground around him. Like most things Kojima gets his hands on, the trailer raises as many questions as answers.
The Phantom Pain hits Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC on September 1. For more on Metal Gear Solid V, check out our cover story hub filled with exclusive stories and our recent hands-on Q&A about The Phantom Pain.
