EA Takes Us To A New Galaxy With Mass Effect Andromeda

by Ben Reeves on Jun 15, 2015 at 10:11 AM

EA opened its press conference big, with a first look at the next Mass Effect game from BioWare Montreal, but don't expect a rehash of what you've already seen from Mass Effect.

The demo of Mass Effect Andromeda was short, but it did confirm that the next Mass Effect game would be taking place in a new galaxy and feature new enemies. We saw the main character using a jetpack and jumping into the air to perform a ground pound on a group of enemies. BioWare has previously said that Shepard's story is done, but the protagonist featured in the trailer was sporting an N7 logo. Be prepared to wait a little before playing this game, because EA is planning on releasing Mass Effect Andromeda during the holiday of 2016.

BioWare's official blog said that Andromeda is "taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy. You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later). You’ll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw." We can't wait to see more about this game, so stayed tuned for more, hopefully soon.
