The Lord Of The Rings And Star Wars Actor Christopher Lee Dead At 93
Christopher Lee, an actor who captivated fans of science-fiction, horror, and fantasy, has died at the age of 93. Lee's deep voice intimidated us as The Lord of the Rings' Saruman and made us wince as he removed Anakin's hand as Star Wars' Count Dooku.
While Lee's screen roles proved a perfect entry to the digital gaming medium, his prolific work brought is unmistakable voice to other characters. Lee played DiZ and Ansem the Wise in the Kingdom Hearts series and Lucan D'Lere in EverQuest II.
Lee began acting in the 1950s as Count Dracula in a series of "Hammer Horror" films produced in England. He also played Frankenstein's Monster for the studio.
He was a James Bond villain (Scaramanga in the The Man with The Golden Gun, another role reprised for a video game) and stepped into the role of one of fiction's greatest detectives, Sherlock Holmes. Lee will be remembered by fans for his presence, his voice, and for his love of heavy metal.
