Diablo's Butcher Headlines Heroes Of The Storm Eternal Conflict Update

by Mike Futter on Jun 08, 2015 at 03:29 AM

Blizzard just released Heroes of the Storm out of beta earlier this month, but the team behind the MOBA is getting ready to add more content already. The first major update features a collection of Diablo-themed battlegrounds (maps) and heroes.

First up is the Battlefield of Eternity. This map represents the never-ending conflict between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells with two different tilesets representing those two concepts.

The center of the map features two immortals. If you can take out the opposing team's, your immortal will gain a shield and start pushing a lane.

Additionally, Blizzard showed off The Butcher. This hulking beast terrified players most recently in Diablo III. In Heroes of the Storm, he's a glass cannon, with high damage output up close, but not able to take too much of a beating.

His abilities allow him to farm minions and heroes to increase his attack power, with each kill boosting his output by one and three percent respectively. His other abilities enable life steal, slowing minions and heroes in front of him, and a crowd control ultimate that chains an enemy to a spot. If the hero tries to run, he or she gets yanked back to the tether point.

Eternal Conflict will enter a public test on June 23, with the first battleground and The Butcher due out a week later on June 30. More Diablo content will be added during this extended event. You can see the new map and hero in the video below at the 2 hour, 10 minute mark.
