Report: Need For Speed Coming In November & Other Details

by Matthew Kato on May 28, 2015 at 04:07 AM

According to a now-defunct link from the Xbox store, EA apparently plans to release the Need for Speed reboot in the thick of the holiday gaming season.

A Reddit post from "lipeeeeee" has a cut-and-paste text description of EA's recently announced Need for Speed title being developed by Ghost Games, with a release date of November 3.

The listing (the link for which is now a dead end) also talks about "5 unique ways to play, Speed, Style, Build, Crew, and Outlaw." However, it's unknown if these are actual modes in the title, although the text says these ways of playing will build your reputation. The reported blurb says NFS takes place in the West Coast setting of Ventura Bay, which has canyons, a harbor, and a downtown, and that the game features overlapping stories.

EA has only officially announced a release window of third fiscal quarter (October through December) for the game, which appears on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. We've contacted EA for more information, and will update this post if we get any news.

Our Take
A release date in the holiday season is very likely, which certainly lends an air of credibility to this report.
