Destiny’s House of Wolves has been open for a few days now, but one of the expansion’s most significant features hasn’t been available until today. The PvP endgame event called Trials of Osiris is scheduled to start right now, at 10am PST. If you’re up for some challenging confrontations against your fellow guardians, Trials of Osiris is one of the best ways to hit level cap.

If you’re curious to learn more about Trials of Osiris, we have a rundown of the event’s most noteworthy features. The basic gist is that you enter the tournament by purchasing a Trials Passage (don’t worry – it’s super cheap). The Passage can be turned in whenever you hit nine wins or three losses – whichever comes first. Depending on how many wins you’ve garnered, you gain access to one of several reward tiers, including new weapons and armor.

If you’re ready to jump into the fray, your best bet is to buff yourself out with Trials Supplies. If you’ve been playing House of Wolves this week, you may already have some Passage Coins – these are essential for success, unless you’re a world-class Crucible player. Before making a run at the Trials, you can use your Passage Coins to purchase supplies from Brother Vance (located in the Reef). These supplies (the Favor, Mercy, and Boon of Osiris) offer a faster path to the higher reward tiers, like counting a single win as two wins. If you don't have enough Passage Coins, you can get more by playing House of Wolves Crucible playlists or by making an initial run at the Trials in order to farm coins before making a more serious attempt at the higher tiers in a later Passage. For your best run, you should buy all three supplies and trigger them for a single Passage, thereby maximizing your chances to get to the highest tiers.

This week, Trials of Osiris plays out on the The Burning Shrine map on Mercury – all your matches will be set there, so you should have plenty of time to familiarize yourself with the terrain. The event utilizes the new Elimination game mode, which charges your team with taking out the entire enemy team to score one point. To enter, you need to have your own team of three players, so start coordinating with your online friends about when you want to make your attempt.

Good luck out there, Guardians.
