PlayStation E3 Press Conference Returns To Theaters June 15

by Mike Futter on May 21, 2015 at 05:03 AM

Last year, Sony worked with theaters across the country to give fans a chance to see its E3 press conference on the big screen. You’ll have that chance again, with more theaters participating.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Geoff Keighley writes that the number of venues has been increased by 150 percent to more than 75. Each state will have at least one theatre showing the event, including Hawaii and Alaska. If you live in Canada, there will be three locations hosting the conference.

Tickets are free, and they will be available on Wednesday, May 27 beginning at 9 a.m. Pacific / 12 p.m. Eastern. Only 80 percent of theatre capacity will be distributed this way, with the remaining 20 percent on a first come, first served wait list.

The event starts at 6 p.m. Pacific / 9 p.m. Eastern on June 15. Those in the theaters will also see a 30-minute post-show hosted by Keighley and will take home a cryptic “PlayStation surprise.”

If the video above is any indication, here's what we might expect to see (in part) at Sony's press conference:

  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Bloodborne (possibly the confirmed DLC)
  • Destiny
  • No Man's Sky
  • Ratchet and Clank
  • Star Wars: Battlefront
  • Street Fighter V
  • Tearaway Unfolded
  • The Tomorrow Children
  • Uncharted 4
  • Until Dawn

There were also multiple shots of The Last of Us, though they may have been for color. You can read more about Sony's theater presentation here.
