NHL fans still attached to their Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 won't be getting new game features from EA Sports this year, but they are receiving updated rosters and schedules.

Today EA Sports announced NHL Legacy Edition, which rounds up the most popular modes from the last generation of NHL games an repurposes them so fans who haven't made the jump to the newer consoles can still get their puck fix.

EA has yet to announce pricing details. You can read more about NHL Legacy Edition here.

Our Take
Given the meager effort being put into this offering, we hope this game is sold at a bargain price. Still, it's a nice gesture to the tens of thousands of hockey fans who haven't purchased an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 yet.
