[Update] Bungie Says Patch 1.2.0 Could Be Released Friday Morning

by Mike Futter on May 14, 2015 at 03:22 PM

Update: Bungie has provided an update on the delay related to activation of update 1.2.0. The news is good, especially with the House of Wolves expansion just days away.

"Currently, all signs point to tomorrow (Friday) morning (Bungie time)," writes community manager David "Deej" Dague. "It will be a game-time decision, so stay tuned. Patch Notes will immediately follow, and all of your questions about the world changes to come will be answered."

Original Story:

Bungie has delivered a new trailer showing off some of the new spaces, weapons, and armor coming in Destiny’s House of Wolves expansion. Most importantly given yesterday’s news about a significant problem with a patch, the release date is still listed as May 19.

Additionally, community manager David “Deej” Dague has provided an update on the patch issues. “Solutions for technical issues that have delayed the delivery of updates have been identified,” Dague writes. “Work is ongoing and we'll release the new content and the Patch Notes as soon as we can. Stand by for more information on timing.”

House of Wolves is schedule for release on all four platforms on Tuesday, May 19. For more, check out our previews of the multiplayer Trials of Osiris and co-operative Prison of Elders modes.

Our Take
In his update, Dague directly mentions releasing “the new content” as soon as possible. It’s unclear here which “new content” Dague is referring to, but the most obvious connection is the looming expansion only days away.
