Rockstar Wants To Give You Prizes For Making A Music Video In GTA V

by Mike Futter on May 12, 2015 at 01:58 PM

I really like the concept of Grand Theft Auto V’s Rockstar Editor, and people are already doing some cool things with it. Rockstar wants you to do more cool things, and this time there are prizes involved.

The publisher has put out the call for videos set against “Leave” by Wavves (off the Alchemist & Oh No Present: Welcome to Los Santos album). All you need to do is create your Rockstar Editor video and publish it to the Social Club with the “#Leave” hashtag. The track can be heard in-game, of course.

Wavves will be participating in the judging (this is going to be the official music video for the song, after all). And the band has shared some background on the tune, so you know what it’s about.

"The song is about leaving a bad situation," the band writes. "Whether that means a criminal enterprise or activity, or a bad romantic relationship, or something else entirely is up to you to interpret as the music video director. Just have fun with it and don’t be afraid to get a little weird along the way."

You need to make these exclusively with the editor, so no fancy post-production tricks (though, those can be quite lovely). The grand prize winner will get a custom Rockstar Editor Logitech keyboard and mouse, some GTA V gear, and $100 to spend in the Rockstar Warehouse.

Two additional runners-up will receive the GTA V prize pack and $100 to spend in the Warehouse. You can listen to the track on the Rockstar Newswire, where you can also find full entry details and rules.
