Disney Infinity 2.0 Comes To Vita Tomorrow With Symbiote Suit Spider-Man

by Mike Futter on May 08, 2015 at 04:21 AM

Last December at PlayStation Experience, Disney announced it was bringing its toys-to-life game, Infinity, to the handheld scene. Tomorrow, that becomes a reality, as the starter kit arrives at retail.

Included in the starter is a rechargeable bluetooth base, the Spider-Man playset, the same toy box game discs that come with the console starters, and Spider-Man in his symbiote suit. You can use the black-clad Spidey in the console versions, and given the language that he’s “debuting” in the starter, he may be available for purchase later.

The base appears to have only two spots for items (compared to the console base, which two character spots and a playset/other slot). One of these is for a character (and circular discs). The other is for a playset or the hexagonal discs that add terrain, skies, and toys to the toy box. The bundle is priced at $59.99.

Our Take
If this works smoothly, it would be a great way for kids to continue their toy box building on the go. That feature gets the most play in my house, and with my son’s adoration of Spider-Man in his symbiote suit, I need to make sure he doesn’t see this on the store shelves.
