Resident Evil HD Remaster Sells Over One Million Copies

by Brian Shea on Apr 24, 2015 at 05:54 AM

Capcom has announced that the remastered version of the survival horror classic Resident Evil has sold over one million units worldwide since its release this past January.

A remastered version of the 2002 remade edition, Resident Evil HD Remaster includes enhanced graphics, a new very easy difficulty setting, and additional control and display options. Previously, Resident Evil HD Remaster claimed the record for the biggest selling day one digital title on PlayStation Network, as well as the crown for Capcom's fastest selling digital title ever across Europe and North America.

Tim Turi's review spoke very highly of the game when it released, giving it one of the highest scores we can dish out to a game.

Our Take
Given the accolades, history, and previously claimed sales records, this announcement comes as no surprise. Still, it's great to see that the fan base is still there for classic survival horror and that the Resident Evil name still has this kind of sales oomph behind it.
