Top players of Turtle Rock's 4v1 shooter Evolve are getting a new competition to participate in thanks to the 2015 Proving Grounds Tournament. The tournament, which is presented by ESL, is set to host the finals in Los Angeles the week of June 15.

Proving Grounds gives players the opportunity to compete in qualifying and regional events in order to place high enough for the Global Finals, which promises a prize pool of over $100,000 provided by 2K. The tournament is taking place on Xbox One and qualifying is open to any Evolve players with an Xbox Live Gold subscription and an ESL account.

Qualifying for the 2015 Proving Grounds Tournament starts this Sunday, April 26, kicking off the lead-up to the Global Finals in Los Angeles this June. The semifinals and finals will broadcast live on the official Evolve Twitch channel.

Our Take
Evolve was designed with eSports in mind, so these kinds of tournaments seem like the right move for 2K and Turtle Rock to try and keep excitement and buzz for the game up.
