Destiny’s 1.1.2 Patch Is A Chunky 6 GB

by Mike Futter on Apr 14, 2015 at 08:15 AM

First, the good news. The litany of improvements Bungie has been promising for Destiny are arriving now. The bad news? If you don’t have your console set to auto-download updates, you might not be playing tonight.

The latest patch, which adds more vault space, colorblind correction modes, raid improvements, audio options, and more weighs in at over 6 GB. On my Verizon FiOS connection, the timer suggests a download of about six hours in total.

While most of the items in the update have been covered extensively over the past few weeks of Destiny updates, there are a couple that are good to call out. Some of the basic crucible bounties (those for hand cannons, fusion rifles, and shotguns have been toned down to count kills instead of streaks). You can also now remove the UI when inspecting items (if you want to take a picture of your Gjallarhorn to brag).

You can check out the entire patch notes on Bungie’s website. For more, check out yesterday’s House of Wolves introductory trailer and news (including the surprise absence of a raid from the new expansion).

Update: A number of readers have shared that the Xbox One version of the update is 4.3 GB.
