Bungie’s next big Destiny expansion, House of Wolves, releases next month and as we get closer to this new content we're slowly getting a stream of new details about this exciting DLC. Unfortunately, some people might not be happy to discover the new expansion does not include a raid.

Aside from not having a raid activity, House of Wolves will have a new cooperative mode – a battle arena called The Prison of Elders. We don't know much about The Prison of Elders, but if we had to guess, we'd speculate that it might be some variation on an arena-like Horde mode. Bungie promises to reveal gameplay of this new three-player mode on May 6, not long before its May 19 release.

Destiny players might also be excited to know that on April 22, the studio will reveal the new upgrade path for existing Exotic and Legendary gear. Then on April 29, Bungie will show off live gameplay of the competitive Trials of Osiris experience and its collection of end game gear.

In other Destiny news, update 1.1.2 is set to release tomorrow morning, and it will allow Guardians to display their helmet in the tower as well as lock gear to prevent it from being accidentally dismantled.

Our Take
No new Raid is a little sad since many players see that mode as the end game content for Destiny. Traditionally, raids have been the best place to level up new gear, so we hope that the new Prison of Elders mode is as compelling as Bungie's previous content. Thankfully, Bungie did promise that a new raid would be released later this year, but we'll have to wait to hear more about that.
