this week in mobile

This Week In Mobile we have a twin-stick shooter (minus the sticks), a console-quality action/RPG, a randomized action/platformer, and a clicker/strategy hybrid. All four game are available on iOS, but only this week’s free game, CivCrafter, is available on Android.

Trigonarium
Developer: Kimmo Lahtinen
Platform: iOS
Price: $1.99

Trigonarium is a hardcore twin-stick shooter in the vein of Geometry Wars. In addition to an arcade mode that contains boss battles, there is a challenge mode designed for quick play sessions. Every mode can be played in local co-op, all while maintaining the action at 60 frames per second.

Implosion: Never Lose Hope
Developer: Rayark Inc.
Platform: iOS
Price $9.99

Implosion: Never Lose Hope is an action RPG that boasts high quality HD graphics. There is quite a bit of variety in the game since there are lots of enemies and bosses to kill, loot to gain, and bonus objectives to complete. You can mix up your attacks between a normal attack and a heavy attack to make the most out of your combos and you can dodge out of the way with the dodge button. The controls seem to work pretty well which is impressive.

Devious Dungeons 2
Developer: Ravenous Games Inc.
Platform: iOS
Price $0.99

Devious Dungeons 2 features randomized maps across five worlds and offers gameplay similar to the Castlevania series. There are weapons and gear to obtain, and many bosses and traps to contend with. Three different classes to choose from – barbarian, mage, and rogue – gives the game more replay value.

CivCrafter
Developer: Naquatic LLC
Platform: iOS, Android
Price: Free

At first, CivCrafter follows the example of games like Cookie Clicker. By clicking on three icons that represent food, wood, and stone, you begin collecting those resources. While you always have the option to keep clicking, you soon build up an army and a community, and the gameplay switches to managing your resources. From here, you can even begin to raid other civilizations and take their resources to expand your empire.
