Resident Evil Revelations 2 Coming To Vita ‘This Summer’

by Mike Futter on Apr 10, 2015 at 06:59 AM

If you’ve been waiting to play Resident Evil Revelations 2 on the go, you might be wondering what’s going on with that version. Today, Sony director of third party production provided an update on the Vita edition.

Frima Studio, a Canadian developer responsible for Chariot and Zombie Tycoon, is handling the handheld port. Included in the Vita version are the four episodes and single-player raid mode. Online and ad-hoc multiplayer will be patched in after launch.

The Vita version will include gyroscopic targeting to take advantage of the device’s features. It’s currently planned for sometime this summer, but no firm release date (or even a month) has been shared yet.

Our Take
I like the idea of getting the game out before the fall rush (when it will be lost), provided the online raid mode features are patched in quickly. There are apparently more Vita-specific features, and hopefully those are both optional and not intrusive.
