Daniel Radcliffe In Talks To Play Rockstar Co-Founder In BBC Drama About Grand Theft Auto

by Kyle Hilliard on Apr 08, 2015 at 02:33 PM

Daniel Radcliffe, known predominantly for playing Harry Potter in eight films, is in talks to play Rockstar Games co-founder Sam Houser in an upcoming BBC drama.

The movie, appropriately titled Grand Theft Auto, will dramatize the controversy surrounding the titular game and will apparently also feature attorney Jack Thompson as a character in the show. Thompson is well-known for attacking video games in court, focusing much of his attention on Grand Theft Auto. The role of Jack Thompson has not yet been cast.

Grand Theft Auto begins shooting on April 20 and is being directed by Owen Harris, who has directed episodes of Misfits and Black Mirror and written by James Wood.

Our Take
This sounds like a fascinating project. I like Daniel Radcliffe a lot, and Rockstar's history is fascinating. I'm curious if Rockstar is involved in the project. Also, on a far less interesting note, James Wood is writing the script, and James Woods played a role in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. They're two different people with very similar names who have both been involved in Grand Theft Auto projects. Weird, right?
