Start saving those pennies, Amiibo collectors. If today's Nintendo Direct points toward where Nintendo is going in the future, most high profile releases will likely get Amiibo collections. Along with Yoshi's Woolly World and Super Smash Bros., Nintendo announced a wave specifically for Splatoon, the upcoming Wii U game that has players battling with paint.

The Splatoon Amiibo wave consists of an inkling boy, an inkling girl, and an inkling squid. Unlike the other Amiibo waves, players won't have to hunt down the Splatoon Amiibos individually, as Nintendo is combining all three figures into one package. No pricing details were given, but they will be on store shelves on May 29.

Nintendo also announced a 1v1 multiplayer experience is coming to Splatoon. It's called Battle Dojo, and it's a battle to see who can score the most points popping balloons with ink. Player one uses the TV and player two uses the game pad.
