Bloodborne Predecessor Shadow Tower Coming To PSN Next Week
Since the release of surprise hit Demon’s Souls in 2009, From Software has carved out a niche and built a loyal following. As you may be aware, the PlayStation 3 exclusive was built upon earlier concepts in games like King’s Field and Shadow Tower.
If you’ve never played the latter, a PlayStation 1 title, you’ll get another chance next week. Shadow Tower is coming to the PlayStation Network in North America.
The news was announced on the PlayStation Blogcast (briefly at about the 15-minute mark). If you want to see the game in action, we spent some time with it at the end of our Clock Tower episode of Replay.
There’s no word on pricing yet, but if you want to see a game released on the path to the Souls titles and Bloodborne, you’ll get your chance. For more on Kings Field, considered one of the earliest foundations for From Software’s current work, we’ve got a Replay waiting for you.

Our Take
I think I’ll start with one of the contemporary titles before diving into the back catalog. Once I get my feet under me with Dark Souls II or Bloodborne, maybe I’ll dig into From Software’s non-Chromehounds history.
