Author Terry Pratchett Passes Away At 66
Fantasy author Sir Terry Pratchett has passed away at 66 according to his publisher, Penguin Books. Pratchett is best known for his Discworld series and the parody of real-world issues contained therein.
That franchise also touched the gaming world, with games on a number of different platforms, including PlayStation, Sega Saturn, Philips CD-i, 3DO, PC, Commodore 64, and ZX Spectrum. These are largely adventure titles and include a healthy dose of Pratchett’s trademark humor.
Sir Terence David John Pratchett was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1998. In 2007, he announced his Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
He is survived by his wife, Lyn, and his daughter Rhianna. Ms. Pratchett is the writer of Crystal Dynamics’ 2013 Tomb Raider reboot and its follow up, Rise of the Tomb Raider.
