The Evil Within "The Assignment" DLC Available Today
Months have passed since detective Sebastian Castellanos' harrowing adventure in The Evil Within released (read my review here). The madness continues today with a downloadable side story starring one of Castellanos' mysterious affiliates, detective Juli Kidman, complete with new surprises in case the original wasn't stressful enough.
Without giving away any plot points from The Evil Within's main story, Kidman plays a surprisingly meaningful role in the story. She leaves players with a lot of questions, which The Assignment is apparently poised to answer. In addition to finding out what Kidman was up to while Castellanos grappled with reality, this DLC will include new monsters and reveal more on a shadowy group called Mobius. Considering Mobius is responsible for the grizzly events of The Evil Within, this DLC sounds like a worthwhile venture for anyone eager for more information surrounding Castellanos' confusing nightmare.
The Evil Within's season pass holders already have access to The Assignment. Two more DLC add-ons are planned, The Consequence and The Executioner. The former is planned to conclude Kidman's two-part side story. You can pick up The Assignment by itself for $9.99 on PS3, 360, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
