by Elise Favis on Mar 09, 2015 at 01:35 PM

Update: It appears Kudo Tsunoda isn't the only one taking on a new role within Microsoft. Longtime developer Rod Fergusson has been promoted to head up Black Tusk Studios according to his tweet today. Fergusson worked on all the previous Gears of War games and then left to be the executive VP of development at Irrational Games while it was working on BioShock Infinite. After that project, he became studio manager at Black Tusk, which is currently working on a new Gears of War game.

Original story:

Xbox announced today that Kudo Tsunoda, developer of the Kinect and the upcoming Microsoft HoloLens, will be leading several Xbox teams in the United States and Europe, as well as the Global Publishing team. Tsunoda will be working with UK teams such as Rare, Lionhead, and Lift London. Some newer teams like Press Play, Twisted Pixel, and Decisive Games will also be led by him. At Global Publishing, Tsunoda will oversee development of Quantum Break, Scalebound, and Crackdown.

Aside from his leadership expansion, certain Xbox studios will also see a shift in management. Black Tusk general manager Hanno Lemke will be moving to work at Press Play, Lionhead Studios' John Needham will focus on development for the Microsoft HoloLens, and finally, Big Park's Will Mozell will take on Microsoft Studios Canada as general manager.

Additionally, Tsunoda hinted that fans will be hearing more Gears of War related updates soon. Watch the full video below.
