Notch created one of the most popular games of all time and then sold his ownership of the property to Microsoft. In an recent interview, Notch talks about why he wanted to get out from under Minecraft and why he chose to sell to Microsoft.

Notch was recently ranked by Forbes Magazine as one of the richest developers in gaming. In an interview with the magazine, the famous developer talks about how he felt burdened by the property he created, how Fez creator Phil Fish helped inspire him to sell the company, and whether or not he'll ever release another game.

Our Take
Notch probably made the right call. It's a shame when something you once loved begins to feel like a burden. Hopefully, Notch can take some time to rediscover his passion, and then maybe he'll want to make games again.
