Reader Discussion: How Would You Change The Sims And SimCity?

Today brought news that Maxis Emeryville is shutting down. The studio brought us games like Spore and SimCity, but EA has chosen to shutter the office, even while keeping other related EA studios open in Redwood Shores, Salt Lake City, Helsinki, and Melbourne. The future of Maxis' properties are uncertain, but we'd like to know what you want to see from them in the coming years.

While the closure is far from a death knell for the well-known Sim-related franchises, it does underscore that EA has struggled in recent years with both a poor reception for SimCity and fan frustrations over features left out of The Sims 4. 

EA is  unlikely to give up on either brand anytime soon. So how would you help them out, if you had the ability? What features in SimCity would help the series reclaim its title as city simulator champ? And what aspects of The Sims franchise need to change to get you to dive back in?
