Danganronpa 3 Is In The Works
If you love the insanely twisted Danganronpa games, you're in luck! A new entry is currently in development.
Today I had the pleasure of sitting down and interviewing Danganronpa writer Kazutaka Kodaka via a translator. Kodaka confirmed that Spike Chunsoft is at work on a new entry, but it's still in the very early stages.
While Kodaka couldn't reveal much, he did say the one thing that won't change is "that idea of surprising players, keeping them really on their toes and wondering what happens next."
I asked if we can expect more Monokuma in the next entry, and Kodaka said that he wants to put Monokuma in, but he can't say whether he will or not.
Kodaka also had an interesting answer when I asked him where Danganronpa 3 would take place in the timeline. "I can't really say a lot, but the reason for that is it's not really decided yet," Kodaka said. "This [could happen] before [the first game], it could take place in an entirely different world. What I do know for sure is that when it is an announcement, it's not going to be just a usual Danganronpa announcement. It's going to be something that's going to shock fans and make them think, 'whoa, what's going on?'."
