Marth Amiibo Returns To Stores In April

by Mike Futter on Mar 02, 2015 at 11:04 AM

Good news, Amiibo collectors. If you happened to miss Marth last fall, you’re going to get another chance in about two months.

The Nintendo Facebook page has given us a release window for the figure’s return to retail. You can expect him to arrive in late April.

We recommend that you jump on him if you see him go up for order, as this second wave will likely get swallowed by scalpers quickly. There’s also no guarantee that there will be any more after this wave is done.

Marth’s re-release is due to the figure’s compatibility with Code Name S.T.E.A.M., which is out on March 13. In addition to Marth, Ike and other Fire Emblem characters can be added to Intelligent Systems’ upcoming title via Amiibo.

Right now, you’ll need a New 3DS. However, Nintendo says it is planning an external Amiibo reader for legacy systems.

Our Take
Given the price of figures like the Gold Mario Amiibo, you won’t want to wait. Pre-ordering might be the only way to get him at a reasonable price before the grey market swoops in.
