Weekend Warrior 02/27/15

by Elise Favis on Feb 27, 2015 at 01:00 PM

Everyone at Game Informer has got something different on their list of games to play this weekend. Tim and Kyle are progressing through Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Ben Hanson still hasn't beaten Grim Fandango, and as for me, I'm making my own fun in The Sims 4. What are your gaming plans for the weekend? Let us know in the comments.

Matthew Kato (@MattKato): Hope to play more of The Order this weekend, although the fact I've stalled is not a good sign for the game. Conversely, I've been intrigued so far by the first episode of Life is Strange, but haven't gone back to it for no particular reason.

Tim Turi (@timturi): This weekend I hope to cram in as many games as I can before I go to the Game Developers Conference. I plan on grouping up with some friends for a little co-op Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, trying to polish off the rest of Dying Light, and hopefully starting Grow Home. Also, I started replaying Spyro the Dragon, so maybe that will happen, too.

Ben Reeves (@benjaminreeves): I'm currently working on editing my book, so expect less errors soon (hey, buy my book, Kill Screen right meow). I’m also going to a wedding this weekend, so I’ll be playing the game: Sneak Extra Cake Over To My Table. On Saturday night, I plan on watching the UFC fight, and at some point I wanted to finally get around to playing Life is Strange and Resident Evil Revelations 2.

Mike Futter (@futterish): This weekend, I will play games. This sounds like a joke, but it’s been a looooooong week, and I haven’t had time to play. On tap is Dying Light with Reiner, Life is Strange episode 1, and some more Hand of Fate. I hope to also get in at least one match of Evolve with people I know.

Justin Mikos (@JustinMikos)Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late is my main priority this weekend. It’s an awesome fighting game and I’m really enjoying learning how to play each of the characters especially Linne, Nanase, and Gordeau. Beyond that I’m planning on going to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch UFC with Jon and some of the editors. Playing Kirby and the Rainbow Curse and watching some anime will probably also happen before the weekend ends.

Ben Hanson (@yozetty): This weekend I'm planning on finishing my playthrough of Grim Fandango. I'm fully glued to a walkthrough, about 10 hours in, and am making a lot of progress through year four. I'd also love to play more rounds of Evolve with a full five-person crew, I could really go for unlocking that second trapper at some point here.  Outside of that, I will most likely continue to play the confusingly-addicting Super Crosswords on my 3DS. Have a good weekend!

Jeff Marchiafava (@GIJeffM): This weekend I’ll be playing a ton of indie games again. My main focus for the past couple days has been Helldivers (expect a review next week!), but I’ve also become hopelessly addicted to Rogue Legacy. It’s not surprising; both have a great loop of gameplay and progression, which makes it easy to fall into that classic one-more-level pattern. Beyond that, I might start up Resident Evil HD. I don’t recall ever actually playing Resident Evil, but somehow I know every single plot point of the game; I must have picked it up via osmosis from working so close to Tim.

Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard)I'm slowly working my way through Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. It still hasn't quite clicked yet, but I'm not disliking the experience so... progress? Otherwise, I'll be watching Big Hero 6 a lot with my daughter. Or as she likes to refer to it – robot doctor movie.

Wade Wojcik (@WadeWojcik): Having just got the New 3DS I’ll be taking my amiibos on the go with Super Smash Bros.

Jon Gregory (@JMan240)I just got to the first trial in Danganronpa yesterday. I hate every single one of the characters, and I kind of hate the truth bullet mechanic, but I love the idea of the investigations so I’ll be continuing down that path this weekend. Hopefully something happens that makes the characters less excruciating to deal with though, because I think they’re all pretty annoying so far.

Elise Favis (@elisefavis): I have to head back to Montreal for the weekend, so I'm planning to continue Majora's Mask and Daganronpa on the airplane and in the airport. Besides those two, I've been returning to The Sims 4 this week with a deranged goal in mind - basically, I'm attempting to romance as many sims as possible (at least 20 of them) and then invite them into a small room. It'll be amusing to watch madness break out, as they realize I'm cheating on every one of them.
