Destiny’s weekly update includes something players have been requesting for quite a while. The Destiny website and companion app have a brand new feature: you can now swap gear without visiting the Tower.

That means you don’t need to drop items in the Vault, log out, log back in with a different character, return to the Tower, and gear back up. Instead, you can move items into and out of the vault from anywhere, even combat situations.

Bungie is also making come changes to the Crucible. Inferno playlists (launching March 3) remove the radar, reduce scoring events to make winning more about kills and the primary objective, increase capture times to compensate for lack of radar, and reduced heavy ammunition.

Control is the first mode to get an Infernal variety. It will be available on these maps:

  • The Anomaly
  • Firebase Delphi
  • Twilight Gap
  • Rusted Lands
  • Shores of Time
  • Blind Watch
  • Asylum
  • The Burning Shrine
  • The Cauldron
  • Pantheon

Our Take
Last week’s update touched off one of the more interesting stories I’ve covered, starting with a video of a young boy that had his account deleted over Share Play. From there, it was a winding path to find out who owned the account and that he wasn’t the actual culprit.

As for this week’s update, the mobile vault features are a fantastic addition. I’m excited to try those out.
