Capcom Apologizes For Missing Resident Evil Revelations 2 PC Local Co-Op

by Matt Helgeson on Feb 26, 2015 at 02:00 PM

Fans who bought Capcom's Resident Evil Revelations 2 for PC expecting local co-op play were surprised to find it missing.

After many complaints from fans, Capcom has now issued an apology via the game's Steam community page. According to the publisher, the whole thing was a mistake, as the feature was listed on the game's Steam page in error. Here's the statement in full:

Dear RE fans,

We apologize to our Resident Evil Revelations 2 PC players who purchased the game and expected to have local co-op as a feature. The feature wasn't intended for this version and that caveat was mistakenly omitted from the product description on the Steam page earlier, and then included as soon as we were made aware. This was an unintentional error and again, we apologize for the confusion this may have caused.

We are currently looking into the matter and potential solutions and we hope to have new information to share very soon, so please stay tuned. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Our Take
While it's good that Capcom apologized, that doesn't help those who already purchased the game. It's important that consumers know exactly what it is that they are buying.
