Weekend Warrior 02/13/2015

Each member of the Game Informer crew is tackling the Valentine’s Day weekend in their own way. While some people are still working through last year’s Assassin’s Creed Unity and the next generation Grand Theft Auto V ports, others are checking out this week’s new games including Evolve, Majora's Mask 3D, and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. From conversations around the office, some people are also tracking down the New 3DS this weekend. Let us know what you are planning to do this weekend in the comments below!

Dan Tack (@dantack): Monster Hunter with friends!!! And probably some Evolve and Heroes of the Storm too, Lost Vikings woo!

Jeff Marchiafava (@GIJeffM): Now that our Evolve review is finally finished, I’m looking forward to just playing the game for fun with friends. That said, I’m also loving Darkest Dungeon, which I dabbled in a littler earlier this week. If I’ve still got time beyond that, I want to check out Apotheon, which Bryan seemed pretty smitten with.

Laleh Tobin (@LalehAzarshin): I'll be spending the entire weekend playing Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate with my husband and some old friends who played the original Monster Hunter with us 10 years ago. Who needs a Valentine's Day when there's an online gaming reunion to celebrate?

Mike Futter (@futterish): This weekend, I’m finally going to dive into Evolve. I’m looking forward to finally playing the final version with friends after loving it at E3, PAX, and Gamescom. I will also be putting more time into Darkest Dungeon and Dragon Age: Inquisition. If I have enough bodies, I’ll also be running raids in Destiny.

Matt Bertz (@mattbertz): This weekend is all about learning the ins and outs of Evolve, swashbuckling through the French Revolution in AC Unity, and driving around Los Santos in GTA V on my PS4. If I wrap up Unity, I may dip my toes into the infected waters of Dying Light.

Brian Shea (@BrianPShea): I’m spending my Valentine’s Day weekend with Michael, Franklin, and Trevor in Los Santos. That’s right, I’m still trudging through GTA V on PS4. In between my joyrides and felony sprees, I’ll also be assassinating Frenchmen in Assassin’s Creed: Unity. Chances are, I’ll probably end up in Dragon Age: Inquisition and Evolve at some point as well.

Ben Reeves (@BenjaminReeves): Tomorrow I’m going to cover some chocolates in strawberries and then have some sexy time with my PS4. I’m almost done with Infamous: Second Son, but I’m eager to jump into The Order 1886. Also, I’ve been reading Matt Fraction’s run on The Immortal Iron Fist and I’m eager to finish that up as well.

Elise Favis (@EliseFavis): My best friend is coming from Montreal this weekend, so I don’t know how much gaming I’ll be getting in. I am, however, planning to make more progress in Grim Fandango Remastered and Assassin’s Creed Unity. Maybe I’ll throw in a bit of Kingdom Hearts, too.

Jonathon Gregory (@JMan240): I’m bad at video games, and Justin explained how you’re actually supposed to play the Scott Pilgrim game this morning – so I’ll probably actually beat the first level of that now. To be honest, that’s all I really care about doing in that game at this point. My Vita says it’s going to take 780 minutes to download Final Fantasy X-2 at the moment, but maybe I’ll get to that kinda-creepy-fanservice-filled thing at some point.

Justin Mikos (@JustinMikos): I'm starting this weekend by crossing the Mississippi River to purchase a New 3DS XL with Majora's Mask and Monster Hunter and also get some Buffalo Wild Wings while I'm at it. Majora is one of my favorite Zelda games of all time so I'm really looking forward to playing it. Monster Hunter seems intimidating, but I want to give it a shot. I'm also going to continue playing Wolfenstein and watch some anime. Enjoy your weekend everyone!
