report

The dominos are falling for the Assassin's Creed movie by New Regency – a day after the film was officially greenlit – there's a report that Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose, 2007) will star alongside Michael Fassbender.

Deadline reports that Cotillard has agreed to appear in the film, although her role in the movie is still unknown.

Cotillard will star alongside Fassbender this year in Macbeth, which is directed by Justin Kurzel – who's also directing the Assassin's Creed movie.

The Assassin's Creed movie is slated to hit theaters on December 21, 2016.

Our Take
For a long time, the movie seemed to be a one-man show, with Fassbender the only thing that kept it going. Cotillard is a strong signing, and hopefully the pair's familiarity with each other pays off on screen.
