Yet another Super Bowl is in the books. While the water cooler talk at your place of employment was likely dominated by second guessing the final offensive playcall by the Seattle Seahawks, you probably wandered onto the topic of the commercials that aired during the game.

Everyone in our office had their favorites and least favorites (that poor Nationwide kid...), but it was interesting to see a few mobile games buy notoriously expensive ad time during the big game. We're certainly no stranger to seeing the animated commercials from Clash of Clans (though Liam Neeson's monologue was a nice surprise), and I think we could probably recite Kate Upton's lines in the Game of War ads in our sleep by now, but seeing Heroes Charge getting some prime ad time was a nice change of pace.

The question this raises is whether or not the hefty investment from these developers was worth it. Did you download any of the mobile games advertised during the Super Bowl? Do you think it's wise for developers to throw a lot of money at prime advertising space in order to raise awareness? Do you think it would be worth it for any publishers of triple-A titles to buy space during the game?
