EA's PGA Tour Slips Out Of 'Early 2015,' With Release Coming Between April And June

by Mike Futter on Jan 27, 2015 at 09:45 AM

EA only has one major release left in its current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2015. Back in July, when the company shared its first quarter FY2015 results, it said PGA Tour was on track for release in the current financial cycle.

In the presentation slides to accompany today’s call, the title is conspicuously absent. The only game list for fourth quarter (January through March 2015) is Battlefield Hardline.

We expect to hear more about this on the conference call a little later. We’ll update should anything relevant emerge.

Update: EA says that PGA Tour will launch in the company's first quarter of the FY16 fiscal year. This puts release between April and June.

Our Take
This might not reflect anything about the state of PGA Tour. EA just raised its revenue estimates for the year and may have opted for a slight delay to put PGA Tour into fiscal year 2016. The company moved Titanfall on Xbox 360 last into the new year with no impact on financial performance, indicating past success with the strategy.
